What is the requirement for this assignment?
For this group assignment, our task was to build a digital library covering a specific topic. My group members and I chose to collect records preserving the public response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Our library contains digital records such as social media posts, news articles, podcasts, images, etc.
What did you do – explain your work.
My group members and I completed the following tasks:
- Identifying the target community or communities and performing a community analysis
- Developing collection guidelines
- Creating recommendations for metadata
- Making decisions about technological infrastructure, including digitization options
- Implementing a prototype DL that includes 30-50 digital objects
- Compiling a final report
